Junior Track & Field – Message for all U13’s & U15’s

Training starts again on Tuesday 7 January.  We will be indoors at the Grammar School – 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm.  Tuesday training will continue to be at the Grammar School until the end of February.  If there is any change, we will send an e-mail and put a message on the website.

For Steve Allaway’s Group – please note that you will also be indoors at the Grammar School this week.

Thursday training will be on the track –5.50 pm to 7.30 pm.  Please remember that we would like you to do a couple of laps warm up before drills which take place at 6.00 pm by the 100m start line.  These laps should not be done on the track, but should be run on the path between the metal track fence and the wooden fence.

Could we also remind all juniors that appropriate clothing must be worn for training.  Indoors – trainers must be worn – not spikes.  For outdoor training, please bring trainers and spikes.  From a health and safety perspective, we may have to stop athletes doing some events if they don’t have spikes as the track can be wet and slippery.  Please also wear warm clothing for outdoor training.  Shorts and t-shirts and track suit trousers with a jumper should be available for outdoor training (a rain jacket may also be useful!).  If you have any questions, please speak to one of the coaches.

Please also remember to bring a drink to all training sessions.
