UK CAU Inter County & World Trial XC

It is pretty hard to capture the essence of the Inter Counties in words. It is sort of mass participation but only available to the few who are selected. Each of 45 counties/areas can only select 8 runners (9 for senior events) and the first 4 (6 for seniors) count towards the team trophy.

With added prize bonuses for individuals & the carrot of possible selection to the world Champs it provides a blend of large quality fields and tight racing with 300+ runners on each age group start line. Making selection to the Event is an achievement, scoring for the team or being part of a prizewinning team is a bonus. The image above shows Summer Woodhead lining up for the U13g  race she was one of 6 Guernsey athletes making the trip to Loughborough for the event. Results below.

Sarah Mercier and Louise Perrio both ran measured but determined races and were part of the scoring 6 that secured Bronze. Mainland based Danny Ray continues to post solid results. Sammy Galpin, Louis Le Cheminant and Summer Woodhead all ran good races in large fields.
