Intertrust Athletics Games – the island’s premier track and field meet – returns for 2017 on Saturday 2nd September.
As last year – Footes Lane will stage elite and local events during the programme, and this year will include the majority of Intertrust Track & Field Challenge Final programme that was originally scheduled for Sunday 3rd September. The 10,000m event that was originally planned will be retained on the Sunday as an Intertrust 10,000m Challenge event.
Entry will be available online shortly – UK/other athletes who are interested in competing should contact Tom Druce as soon as possible. All local athletes who are supported by the Elite Athlete Performance Programme are expected to compete.
The 2016 edition saw a national standard javelin competition which was won by Matti Mortimore in a huge all-comers’ record of 73.89m. The men’s 100m all-comers’ record was also matched, as Leon Reid clocked 10.40sec to tie with 2015 victor Reuben Arthur.
The full 2017 event programme, schedule, and early confirmed entries will be released over the next fortnight.
