Peter Amy(pictured, Phil Nicolle) clocked up his second Park 5k win in succession with another sub 17 minute run and James De Garis, a veteran of fifty Saumarez Park 5k events, ran a course personal best of 17 minutes 19 seconds for a well run second place.
Louise Perrio completed a swift recovery from what three weeks ago appeared to be a season ending calf injury to run a solid 17 minutes 40 seconds for third. Laura McCarthy, Perrio’s teammate in Guernsey’s silver medal winning Half Marathon team at this year’s Natwest Island Games, ran strongly again to place 7th overall and second woman in 18 minutes 59 seconds.
With warm but calm conditions many runners set personal bests including Nicki Watson and Jo Walker, who whilst near the back of the field exceeded their expectations to finish below 29 minutes.
