For a newcomer Paul Barrasin had a fairly stiff handicap of 15 minutes 30 seconds but he made light work of it and eased round the 4.75 Mile L’Ancresse Full Course in an actual time of 33 minutes 14 seconds to record a gross time of 48 minutes 44 seconds and cross the line 4 seconds clear of Tania Shires.
Over 80 runners took the line in damp but relatively still conditions and generally times were quicker than the straight start Boxing Day race of 6 days earlier. Pete Amy ran fastest net actual time of the day of 27 minutes 15 seconds but it was only enough to get him up to 59th place from his backmarker position.
Fastest woman was Karen Farman with a net actual time of 35 minutes 26 seconds.
Summer Woodhead was fastest of the junior runners over the 2.8Mile “half Course” with a time of 16 minutes 42 seconds.
A big thank you to the numerous Marshalls, officials and course markers who helped stage this race.
