The opening event of the Easter Festival is a flat, fast, inland 5k finishing on the Footes Lane track in front of the home straight stand – a serial PB setter in the 3 years it has been used.
Please note that the race is run on open roads and headphones are not permitted. For your own safety please pay attention to the race briefing, run on the left and be aware of the marshals and adhere to their instructions.
START: 10:00 am
On the day registration takes place in the Garenne Stand from 09:00am. The start will be on the road alongside the Stand. The race finishes on the track, entering on the bottom bend, running 250m ‘the wrong way round’ and finishing in the home straight. Access to the seating in the Stand is free to spectators.
Available at the Footes Lane complex. Spectators should arrive before 09:45 or after 10:05 from the Varendes end of Footes Lane – there will be a temporary closure of the Varendes traffic lights whilst the race gets underway. There is room for spectators to watch the start in Footes Lane itself, but please keep to the areas set off of the road. At the finish spectators can watch from the stand seating area or outside of the barriers around the track. As the race is so short and run on open roads, the Club requests that spectators do notattempt to follow the race along the course by any mode of transport.
