Hampshire League- November -QE Park/Butser Hill

Nine Guernsey athletes braved wet and windy conditions  as well as the infamous Butser Hill at November’s Hampshire League meet. Seniors Ed Mason and Pete Amy were 31st and 36th out of a quality field of 270 runners. Ed was a solid 6th U20 “it was more like a fell race, the toughest run I’ve ever done” he said afterwards.

Renee Hubert and Jess  Gallienne ran well in the combined  under 20s/senior women’s race. Of the total of 160 finishers, Renee was 30th (6th U20) and Jess 45th(9th U20).

In the under 13 boys race debutants Henry Lister and Gian-Luca Robilliard  finished in the top 30 with Gian-Luca finishing in 15th place.

The under 13 girls race saw a Guernsey victory as Summer Woodhead continues to make her mark off-island and led from the start to cross the finish line of the 3000m event with a large 33 second margin. Kate Bain came home in 5th place to gain a county callup for the intercounties match in December. A final well done to Mia Edgeworth for a plucky debut in the under 13girls race.
