Peter Amy led from the off and set an event record of 33 minutes 1 second ahead of a large field of 350+ in the annual Investec Mind 10k.
Mel Nicolle drew clear of Vanessa Rodrigues in the final 2k to claim a top 20 finish and place top woman in 41:57.
As well as attracting some of the island’s more serious athletes the event drew in a range of participants wanting a health related challenge. Amongst the large number of runners was Chief Minister Gavin St. Pier who was amongst the top 50 finishers in a respectable time of 46 minutes.
